White Earth Reservation MN – July 1-8, 2012

Six openings remain on team. Deadline extended to April 15. Act now to be part of this trip. Posted 4/1

Trip Location: The White Earth Reservation was created on March 19, 1867, during a treaty signing in Washington DC. Ten Chippewa Indian chiefs met with President Andrew Johnson at the White House to negotiate the treaty.

The White Earth Nation is Minnesota’s largest and most populous reservation, encompassing 1,300 square miles and is one of seven Chippewa reservations in Minnesota. The reservation serves as the homeland for over 20,000 band members. It is located 68 miles from Fargo ND and 225 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul MN.

Situated in the northwest region of Minnesota it is filled with the natural beauty of lakes, rivers, forests and prairies.

Trip Description: The White Earth Reservation is in an area of especially severe continuous unemployment therefore ministry needs are of vital importance so that children can learn of the love, forgiveness and hope that only comes from Jesus. During your mission trip you will be serving alongside the local church to build relationships with the children through a daily sports camp and community outreach. The team will also be involved with hands on projects determined by the host pastors. This is an amazing opportunity not only to serve but to be immersed in Chippewa culture. We will be serving in the White Earth area of the reservation.
