July 29 – August 4 (Ages 15+)
“REACH” our community kids in Maryland, is a mission trip available to individuals or groups. We will be building a team to help staff 5 evenings of camp to reach kids in the community and surrounding area with the message of Jesus’s love and forgiveness. We will be working alongside the local church and their volunteer base to give the best possible evening camp experience to kids and provide real and practical ways to share the love of Jesus with families and the community.
Where will you serve?
Brunswick Maryland is situated in the southwestern edge of Frederick County, Maryland. It is forty-five miles up the Potomac River from our nation’s capitol, and six miles east of Harpers Ferry.
Brunswick is a city with more than 6,000 residents. It is a major stop on the Maryland Rail commuter (MARC) Train line to Washington, D.C. With modern facilities for its citizens, including fire and ambulance services, schools and churches, doctors and dentists, a library, abundant parks, fishing and boating on the Potomac River, C&O Canal towpath, many public service organizations, and a heritage museum with one of the largest model train layouts on the east coast, there is something for everyone to do or see in Brunswick.
Who will you serve with?
Serving alongside the people at Faith Assembly of God, the mission team will help provide the best possible evening camp , Camp Wannahockalugie, for children in grades k-5. The mission team will conduct all aspects of camp including setup, chaperones for the various age groups, ministry leaders in the areas of praise and worship, crafts, recreation and most importantly Bible sessions. As the Lead Pastor at Faith Assembly of God, Pastor Rick sees every person as having potential in God’s kingdom. As a church, he believes it’s important to create an exciting atmosphere where everyone can respond to God’s amazing grace and love.
It is our desire to provide a fun and quality evening camp experience for kids so that they can experience the fullness of God’s love. The week will conclude with a celebration service when parents are invited to stay for a service highlighting what the children have learned over the week. This is our opportunity to present the gospel to parents, friends and relatives that attend. We have seen adults saved in this service and entire families added to the kingdom of God and to the church body as a result of day camp.
Trip Description: We will be working with Pastor Rick and Faith Assembly of God to reach the children in their community. The goal is two-fold: to present the gospel to as many children as possible through age appropriate, fast paced, fun filled activities that will lead the children into a personal relationship with Christ and to familiarize families with the local church in the hopes that they will make Faith Assembly of God their home church where they can grow together in Christ. We will also be sharing the love of Jesus through real and practical ways during the day by helping with various hands-on projects. This is an amazing opportunity for your team to be part of making an eternal difference in the lives of individuals and a community.
