Welcome from the Camp Director
Every day kids face challenges and negative peer pressure that can impact their lives and how they make decisions. What if you could help guide those decisions by encouraging them to be leaders rather than followers. Leadership isn’t just for those who are outgoing and charismatic. It isn’t based on any personality type or tied to any age or background. Instead, it’s a set of skills that everyone – including kids – can learn to help them succeed in all areas of life.
Jesus was the perfect leader as we read in Hebrews 2:10 (NLT). Jesus had a goal that needed to happen and it required the help of other people. As a leader he wasn’t focused on just his own efforts, but rather how to inspire and and motivate a team of believers to achieve His goal so that none would perish but all would have eternal life.
We need to show kids that they too can be a leader. By helping them recognize their potential and developing their leadership skills we can empower them to make good decisions on their own as they grow.
During Leadership camp we can let kids know that we believe in what God has planned for their lives and give them the confidence to stand firm in their faith walk with Jesus. I am looking forward to pouring into a generation of kids that will eternally impact the world for Jesus.

Hebrews 2:10 – “And it was only right that God—who made everything and for whom everything was made—should bring his many children into glory. Through the suffering of Jesus, God made him a perfect leader, one fit to bring them into their salvation.” (NLT)
Description and Purpose
iRock Adventure Camp is a ministry designed to develop the knowledge and skills of participants on leadership and how they can apply them to their faith walk. This camp, operating in conjunction with Cedar Ridge Adventures, is composed of a series of activities that will develop the students’ critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communication skills, among other topics. It also helps participants understand the importance of planning, persistence and determination in their personal and spiritual lives.
The goal of this camp is to empower participants in such a way that they will want to become leaders and use these skills to build God’s kingdom.
Highlights: One of the best features of this type of camp is the hands-on and individualized training that students will get. Aside from the high and low ropes course, team-building sessions and fireside chats, they also get to work on group projects that will allow them to practice what they have learned from the camp.
Learning Skills: Campers will learn that leadership is an “action” not a position. The camp will connect leadership to servanthood, stewardship and evangelism and seeks to build up the confidence of a person so that they can become more successful leaders.
Academic Benefits: The primary academic benefit of this camp is that it makes it easier for a child to be a leader in the class. Skills learned from this camp can be used for group and class projects, and any other work that requires teamwork and team building.

Transportation
Transportation to and from the camp location is the responsibility of the individual or church.
What will we be doing?
The weekend will consist of high and low ropes course, challenge course activities, team building initiatives and leadership development. Campers will also be spending time in prayer and devotions, chatting around the evening council fire and making preparations to cook and serve all camp meals. Activities with be led by either certified Cedar Ridge Adventures staff or iRock Adventures staff.
Testimony:
We would like each person to be prepared to share his or her faith at any time and why they wanted to be part of the Leadership Adventure.
Accommodations:
Campers and staff will be staying in cabins that are both heated and air conditioned. Shared bathrooms and showers are separate. Each camper will need to supply their own sleeping bag or bedding, pillow and towels.
What are the meals like?
Campers will be preparing and serving 3 meals each day under the supervision of the camp staff. All meals will be home cooked and served cafeteria style. Please make our staff aware of any special dietary needs in advance and we will try our best to accommodate.
Dress Code:
While on the trip, you are representing iRock Ministries and a Christian lifestyle. It is very important that all team members dress modestly and in a way that does not draw attention to themselves. Please keep in mind that activities will be somewhat strenuous and could require climbing, lifting and crawling.

Code of Conduct
As a follower of the Lord Jesus, our conduct should be a witness to others of a transformed life. Paul wrote to Titus, “And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity and seriousness. And let your instruction be sound and fit and wise and wholesome, vigorous and irrefutable and above censure, so that the opponent may be put to shame, finding nothing discrediting or evil to say about us”. (Titus 2:7-8, Amplified Bible, emphasis added)
Recognizing Jesus as the author and finisher of my faith, and the Word of God as the supreme standard for all wisdom and knowledge, it is my aim to exemplify Christ-like character in all that I say and do. I will refrain from anything (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, drugs, pornography, profanity) that may distract from my Christian testimony.
I will endeavor to bring glory and honor to the name of Jesus through my ministry and allow the love of the Spirit to flow through me.
I realize that I have been crucified with Christ and that my life belongs to Him. It is my desire to develop myself as a servant and to seek opportunities to serve, realizing that love exalts and prefers others to self.
As a camper at “iRock Adventure Camp”, I take the potential of becoming a leader as a personal call on my life. It is my aim to recognize my gifts and spend time discovering how God has created me.
I will submit myself to the established leadership of iRock Adventures and those leaders that have been given authority to act on behalf of iRock Adventures. I realize that my participation as a camper is a privilege and a call from God, not a right. I purpose to give my best and to positively support the ministry of iRock Adventures.
